2012 ESP NRL Limited Edition Representative Checklist

A little under 2 months to go until ESP's inaugural League release and after having the first card released in Penrith on Sunday, we can now view the assortment of the players on the checklist of this series. Clearly a 'No Secrets here' attitude is becoming highly apparent, with our previous post featuring samples of the yet-to-be-released the jersey cards.

With a 'Bakers Dozen' of signatures this product has some serious potential, including the Dual Signature with Nathan Hindmarsh/Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. Other notables include Cameron Smith, Johnathan Thurston, Benji Marshall and Jamal Idris.

Further details to the new ESP Sept release of the 2012 Limited

Last week we announced the details of the NRL Licensee, Elite Sports Properties (ESP), along with the sell sheet of the 2012 Limited Edition featuring Representative players from the ANZAC Test Match series, Indigenous All-Stars Match, and the most anticipated, the State of Origin series between NSW and QLD.

Since then, the question we asked along with many others, was are the jersey pieces in the memorabilia cards pictured going to be "Match/Game-Worn"?

According to Terry Wilson, from the ESP Consumer Products Division, he says "The actual game- worn Representative jerseys are next to impossible to obtain because of their importance to those players that are chosen to that for their State or Country, and we understand that, so we've obtained the next closest in the authentic jersey made for the player'.

Also, the first release of the 2012 Limited Edition cards, will be this Sunday - 15th July 2012 at Australia's Premier Collectables Show. The Triple Signature card to be released will individually-numbered to 100 features Mario Fenech, David Peachey and Nigel Vagana, and these past players will be signing the cards on the day.

Rugby Collectors Rejoice! New products set to hit the market!

Whilst AFL collectors have been fortunate to have 2 different products to collect in the first half of the year with the 2012 AFL Select Champions and the premium release of the 2012 Football Draft Prospects, passionate Rugby League collectors were left out in the cold with only the 2012 NRL Select Champions to collect. Things have now changed with a new product to be released in September 2012 featuring players from the 2012 All-stars, State of Origin and the ANZAC Test Matches. At a glance, this new product is laced with Memorabilia cards, and some key signature cards, which those in the northern states have been crying out for.

The National Rugby League (NRL) has today appointed ESP Promotions (AUST) (ESP) as the Exclusive Trading, Game and Collector Card Official Licensee for five years from 2013. ESP’s appointment is an encouraging development for this important product category for the NRL, with the sports marketing company committing to adopt an innovative approach to product design and distribution.

ESP’s first series of NRL Limited Edition Trading Cards will be released to the collector market in September 2012.

The NRL Limited Edition 2012 Series will encompass a premium quality trading card program commemorating the 2012 NRL Representative Series including the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars, Harvey Norman State of Origin and the ANZAC Test Matches.

The NRL Limited Edition 2012 Series will include a number of firsts for NRL Trading Cards including:

-         Player Signed Memorabilia Jersey Cards

-         Double Signature Card

-         Redemption Cards

The NRL Limited Edition 2012 Series will also include an exclusive redemption card insert offering NRL fans the chance to own a piece of match used and referee signed memorabilia.

Scott Davidson, ESP Director, was very excited about the new arrangement and is looking to work with the NRL to rebuild this product category with clear product, pricing and retail segmentation. “ESP is very excited about its new licensing relationship with the NRL and is hoping to make a strong impact across our five year license.  We have many new card offerings that are being built from the ground up with input from the market and various NRL departments,” he commented.

“There will be something in the range for all Rugby League supporters and sports collectors with new educational, community and technology elements all being integrated into the various ranges of trading, game and collector cards,” he added.

The NRL Limited Edition 2012 Series will be available from more than 1500 retail outlets. Further details surrounding the distribution of the NRL Limited Edition 2012 Series and the expansion plans for the product category in 2013 and beyond will be announced shortly.

2012 Football Draft Prospcts Guernsey cards set for redemption!

From Friday, 27th April 2012, the 2012 Football Draft Prospects Guernsey Redemption cards will begin to be sent back to collectors.

Each card has been painstakingly constructed, with each Guernsey piece etched in silver foil.

For those who have Redemption Cards from this series, there is no rush to send them in, as each card is individually-numbered, and will correspond to the number on the actual redemption card. On the other hand, those collectors wishing to redeem their cards, please begin to send your cards in now.

Let's hope there's no delays, but this Friday, 23rd March 2012, the new 2012 AFL Teamcoach product is set for release.

2012 Football Draft Prospects

I am very sorry to advise that the release of the 2012 Football Draft prospects has been delayed by a further 10 days. The new release date is Monday 27^th February 2012.

I understand how disappointing this news will be to many of you who have waited patiently for this new product.

The process of making sports cards involves more than several different companies, each specialising in a different part of the process. Consequently when one deadline is not met, the finished product is ultimately delayed. I would like to assure you all that the quality of our product has not been compromised in any way by this delay.

While the delay has been outside my control, I want to do what I can now to ease any disappointment.

So….customers who have pre-purchased their cases of 2012 Football Draft Prospects directly from footycards.com.au, will now receive one free 2010 Draft Day Rookie signature card for each case purchased. The cards will be randomly selected.

Every customer who has pre-purchased a sealed box will be entitled to $5 credit per box. This credit can be used towards future purchases through the Footycards.com.au website.
